CIVIC THURSDAY CLUB MEETING - Off Site - Mt View Cemetery & Fentons Creamery | 07-18-2024

Join us at 2pm  for a fascinating tour of Oakland's historic Mountain View Cemetery, designed by noted landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted (whose other credits include New York's Central Park). The cemetery has an impressive repository of local and state history and we'll visit some of its most famous and infamous permanent residents. We'll visit a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, California's pioneering first black school teacher, the iconic Millionaire's Row and the founder of America's kindergarten movement.

After the tour,  at 3:15 we will walk over to Fentons Creamery to celebrate National Ice Cream Month.
