CIVIC THURSDAY CLUB MEETING - Speaker Aly Bonde - Oakland Resilient Families Guaranteed Income Pilot and Changing the Narrative about Families Experiencing Poverty
Aly Bonde is currently the Sr. Director of Public Policy and Finance for Oakland Thrives/Youth Ventures Joint Powers Authority, an agency of the City of Oakland, OUSD, and County of Alameda, where she works on public sector systems change, strategic finance, and economic justice issues. Previously at Oakland Thrives she ran the Oakland Resilient Families guaranteed income pilot and co-developed the Rise East initiative to bring $100 million in philanthropy to East Oakland. Prior to joining OT in 2020, Aly was the Director of Public Policy for the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. Aly carries a master’s degree from the Goldman School School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley with an emphasis on equity and local government. Aly has deep Bay Area roots as a fifth-generation resident and lives in Oakland with her yellow lab Theo.
