Tilden Regional Park
Hike with the President
On Sunday, August 26, 8:30 a.m. join us for a hike in Tilden Park. We will meet at the Quarry Trailhead, on Wildcat Canyon Road, between Inspiration Point and South Park Drive. Dogs, on leash are welcome on both trails. Click the link below for park information.
We will hike the Seaview Trail offering magnificent views of Mt. Diablo and the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a section of the East Bay Skyline National Trail and the Bay Area Ridge Trail. The Seaview trail takes us to the Steam Train, where we will have a break. Anyone for a steam train ride through the redwoods? We will return via the Lower Vollmer Peak Trail and the Quarry Trail.
If you have little ones that can’t make the big hike, why not do a “tiny” hike from the Steam Train parking lot and meet us for the break and a train ride?
The hike is 5.5 - 6 miles, with less than 1000 feet of elevation gain. We will have fruit to snack on after the hike. You may also want to bring a picnic to enjoy after the hike. There are picnic areas nearby.
For the trail, bring a snack, water, sunscreen and a hat. Also, check the weather and bring
appropriate layers.
